Seven Bras, Seven Returns: Mequon, In Their Own Words

Before Tracie ever came to see us in Mequon, she had already been through a lot of bras. In her words, “I had purchased at least 7 different bras from different locations and returned every single one of them.” Then, in parentheses, the line that stuck with us: “(I started to feel so discouraged about this).”

Our Mequon team hears some version of that almost every day. So rather than tell you what happens in a fitting room on Port Washington Road, we’d like to let the people who have been in one tell you. Everything quoted below is from public Google reviews of our Mequon store, as written.

The size you’ve worn for twenty years

“I especially appreciate the way they took the time to properly measure me and was surprised to learn that the 34B/36C I’ve been wearing the past 20 years was wrong and I’m actually a 32D! I left wearing one of the bras I bought and said to my husband that I’ve never felt more supported by a bra my entire life!”

Erin C., Google review

We love that one, mostly because of the husband. And because it is so common. A band that’s too loose, a cup that’s too small, and straps quietly doing all the work for years. The tape measure gets you a starting point. Trying things on, with someone who knows what to look for, gets you the answer.

When your body changes

“I lost almost 200 lbs, which has led to a significant change in the shape and size of my breasts. I was made to feel so comfortable and welcome, and I left with several bras that fit my new shape and make me feel beautiful and confident too!”

Dayna L., Google review

Dayna did something hard. The least we could do was make the bra part easy. Allyson said it more simply: she’d recommend us “to anyone who needs to be fitted, especially after a significant body change!” Weight loss, a baby, surgery, or just time. Bodies change, and the fit has to follow.

“Like I was shopping with my best friend”

“Jitanna/J was so amazingly helpful and warm and kind and funny. She made me feel so comfortable – it was like I was shopping with my best friend! … It was like I had my own personal bra stylist who had known me for years! … I was skipping out of the store – that’s how happy I was.”

Molly H., Google review

Shelly wrote that Jenny “was the picture of professionalism and discretion in the process of fitting and finding the right bra.” Peyton said Sarah “exited the dressing room and returned with multiple options,” and that afterward, “My back and neck have been much happier.” Her last line: “Bring everyone you know!”

Ask any of our fitters and they’ll tell you the measuring takes a couple of minutes. The listening takes the rest of the visit.

Supported, not sold

“I never felt pressured, rather supported. I also appreciated not being hit over the head with sexy imagery the second I walked in the door, unlike some other brands. Yes the price point is higher but you definitely get what you pay for!”

Eleanor D., Google review

We’ll take that, price comment and all.

And Tracie?

She opened her review with this: “For the first time in my life, I feel confident in the bra I am wearing because of the expertise and care at allure.” Further down: “It is safe to say that I will not be exchanging or returning the bras that I purchased from here.”

Seven returns, then none. That’s the whole job.

To everyone who took the time to write these, thank you. And if you’re somewhere in the middle of your own seven returns, come see us in Mequon. Fittings are complimentary and you never need an appointment. Hours and directions are on our Wisconsin store page.
